About me

Qualifications
Masters in Couple and Relationship Therapy and a Bachelor of Social Work.

Georgia is a trained and experienced practitioner with a Masters in Couple and Relationship Therapy and a Bachelor of Social Work (hon). She has dedicated her practice to working with individuals and couples who are experiencing difficulties in relationships. Georgia offers counselling for relationships in all their forms.

Georgia does not make judgements about who is right or wrong, nor will she tell clients what to do or what decision to make. Rather, Georgia provides the space and opportunity to explore the issues, feelings and options for a way forward.

This might involve working to nurture and improve an existing relationship or reflecting on whats not working well and other times it involves letting go of one. She works from the basis that relationships are complex and require lifelong attention.

Georgia is warm and inviting, open and insightful. She is passionate about assisting couples to feel more attuned to each other, improve communication and connect at a deeper level. She works hard to ensure a safe and supportive space for individuals and couples to explore their inner world and that of their partners.

In her practice, Georgia has found that when personal relationships are not working well, the ability to cope with other areas of life are often affected too. Georgia is also an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. This additional specialisation enables Georgia to provide therapeutic support to individuals who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health. This can manifest in symptoms of anxiety, depression and uncertainty or it can appear in unrelated struggles and issues that feel overwhelming. Her training and skills enable her to provide assessment and offer effective treatment.

Who do I work with?

I work with individuals and couples experiencing a range of difficulties including communication, sex, desire and intimacy, infidelity, parenting, navigating the online space, grief, loss, infertility, the joining of two families, and separation.

In our first counselling session, my goal is to obtain a 'helicopter' view of the relationship or issue. This may include discussing the difficulties that have brought you to counselling, exploring the history of the problem, understanding what you would like to achieve from our sessions, and gathering information about past experiences. This information becomes invaluable in subsequent sessions as we address important matters as they arise.

Where can you find me?

I consult from my rooms located at 247 David Low Way, Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast.

I offer both face-to-face counselling and telehealth services via video or phone for clients who are unable to attend in person or for couples who may be in two different locations.
